Bread Recipes
Classic White Sandwich Bread
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:
- 6 cups bread flour
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 1/4 cups warm water (105-110F)
Bosch-Specific Tips:
- Water temperature is critical: 105-110F activates yeast without killing it
- Dough should pull cleanly from the bowl sides when properly kneaded
- Let rise until doubled, about 1 hour at room temperature
- For softer crust, brush with melted butter immediately after baking
Honey Whole Wheat Bread
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 3 cups bread flour
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 1/3 cups warm water
- 1 tbsp dough enhancer (optional)
Bosch-Specific Tips:
- Whole wheat flour absorbs more water. Add extra tablespoon if dough feels stiff.
- Knead 2 minutes longer than white bread for proper gluten development
- Dough enhancer helps compensate for bran cutting gluten strands
- Let rise 1-1.5 hours. Whole wheat rises slower than white.
Sourdough Boule
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 cups active sourdough starter
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 2 tsp salt
Bosch-Specific Tips:
- Sourdough needs less kneading than yeasted bread. Do not over-knead.
- Use stretch-and-fold technique during bulk fermentation for extra structure
- Bulk ferment at room temperature 4-6 hours, then shape and cold proof overnight
- Bake in a Dutch oven at 450F for the best crust and oven spring

- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar

- 1/4 cup warm water
Bosch-Specific Tips:

- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/4 cups warm water

Fresh Egg Pasta
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:

- 3 large eggs

Pie Crust
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 6-8 tbsp ice water
Bosch-Specific Tips:
- CRITICAL: Mix as briefly as possible. 45 seconds total is ideal.
- Butter should be ice cold, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- Stop when mixture resembles coarse crumbs with pea-sized butter pieces
- Add ice water 1 tablespoon at a time on Speed 1. Stop when dough just holds together.
Whipped Cream
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Bosch-Specific Tips:
- Use the wire whips, not beater paddles or dough hook
- Cold cream and cold bowl produce the best results
- Watch carefully. The Bosch whips cream fast. Soft peaks in 2-3 minutes.
- Add sugar and vanilla once soft peaks begin to form
Mashed Potatoes
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:
- 5 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup warm milk or cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Bosch-Specific Tips:
- Boil potatoes until fork-tender before adding to the Bosch
- Start on Speed 1 to break up chunks, then Speed 2 for smooth texture
- Do NOT over-mix. Over-mixing makes potatoes gluey.
- The Bosch makes enough mashed potatoes for large family dinners in one batch
Meatballs
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
- 2 tsp salt, herbs to taste
Bosch-Specific Tips:
- Mix on Speed 1 only. Over-mixing makes meatballs dense and tough.
- The Bosch combines large batches evenly without overworking the meat
- Use a cookie scoop for uniform-sized meatballs
- Freeze uncooked meatballs on a sheet pan, then transfer to bags for easy meal prep
Banana Bread
Bosch Settings
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Bosch-Specific Tips:
- Use very ripe bananas (brown/black skin) for the best flavor and moisture
- Mash bananas separately, then add to creamed butter mixture on Speed 1
- Mix flour on Speed 1 for just 30 seconds. Overworked banana bread is tough.
- Add walnuts or chocolate chips by hand after mixing for even distribution
General Bosch Recipe Tips
Scaling Recipes Up
Most recipes can be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled in the Bosch. For bread, the maximum is about 18 cups of flour (6 loaves). For cookies, the 6.5-quart bowl handles quadrupled recipes with ease. When scaling up, use 5% less water than the math suggests and add more as needed.
Minimum Batch Sizes
For bread doughs, the minimum practical batch is 3 cups of flour (1 loaf). Below this, the dough hook cannot grab the dough effectively. For cookies and batters, single recipes work fine since the beater paddles cover more of the bowl surface.
Always Start on Speed 1
Regardless of the recipe, always begin mixing on Speed 1 to incorporate ingredients without creating a flour cloud. This applies to bread, cookies, cakes, and everything else. Only increase speed after ingredients are combined.
Know Your Attachments
Dough hook for bread and yeast doughs. Beater paddles for cookies, cakes, and batters. Wire whips for whipping cream and egg whites. Using the wrong attachment is the most common mistake and dramatically affects results.
